Due to the generosity of Dr. John Eisenstein, professor of film studies at the University of Washington, and his wife, Dr. Juliet Eyre Eisenstein, professor of literature at the University of Washington, the Silverstein Public Library is proud to announce a new section of the library, the Children’s Book and Film Collection. This collection aims to pair books and movies in such a way that children are encouraged to become more avid readers. Each film in the collection shall have at least one book equivalent, and children will be encouraged to read the book before watching the movie, or to read the book after the movie to more fully explore the world of the film.
With this collection, the Silverstein Public Library hopes to nurture a passion for reading books in children of all ages.
