Organization
Physical Organization
The collection will be housed on shelves, organized by author, date, and series (where applicable), with the movie shelved directly behind the book that it is an expression of. In the case of a movie covering several books, the movie shall be shelved directly after the last book on which it is based. This is to encourage a visual connection between the book and the movie and also to encourage those looking for the book or movie to consider its counterpart.
Metadata Organization
In this modern age, it has become increasingly urgent that metadata schemes be able to communicate with each other as well as exhibit flexibility, which is why the collection will be organized using the Dublin Core metadata scheme, which seems set to become the standard. As many items in the collection are pulled from the existing materials, the existing records, already in Dublin Core, will be expanded upon. Below is a table of the elements that will be used and how they will be applied to books and movies in the collection.
| Dublin Core Element | Book | Movie |

While all parts of the record are importance, the “source” element is of particular importance for the collection. Without the “source” element the books and movies will not have an obvious link in the online catalog.
